DVD’s
You are not a Janeite until you own a copy of this fabulous 5 hour miniseries starring Colin Firth as the pond plunging Mr. Darcy. Read our review.
This new 2 part movie adaptation of mystery writer P. D. James’ bestselling novel of the same name aired in the UK in 2013 and in the US in 2014. It was much better than the book.
12. Austenland
Are you ready to go on a Jane Austen fantasy holiday at a Regency era grand manor house in England to find your Mr. Darcy? If so, be prepared for some off color humor and stinging jabs at Jane Austen fandom. British actor J.J. Feild as Mr. Nobly saved this film for me.
MUSIC
13. Jane Austen Entertains: Music from her own library
A fabulous selection of classic piano music from Jane Austen’s own collection, preformed on period instruments.
NONFICTION BOOKS
14. What Would Jane Do?: Quips and Wisdom from Jane Austen, by Potter Style
A collection of Jane Austen quotes beautifully packaged.
15. At Home with Jane Austen, by Kim Wilson
Quite possibly the most visually stunning and well-written coffee table book on Jane Austen, her family, and her times ever published. I highly recommend it.
16. Jane Austen Cover to Cover: 200 Years of Classic Book Covers, by Margaret C. Sullivan
What great fun it is to see so many covers of Jane Austen’s book assembled and cleverly described by Austen aficionado Margaret Sullivan. Brava! Your Janeite will squeal and swoon with joy!
17. Jane Austen: Her Life, Her Times, Her Novels, by Janet Todd
Another great highly illustrated introduction to one of the most famous authors, her life and her novels. A fabulous gift choice. Read our review.
CHILDREN’S BOOKS
18. Goodnight Mr. Darcy (A Babylit Parody), by Kate Coombs, illustrated by Alli Arnold
Did your parents read Goodnight Moon to you as a child? This parody on the classic will teach your young one all about Mr. Darcy, who as we know, should be a character in all children’s bed time stories.
NOVELS
Oh my. To have this collection of Jane Austen novels on my shelf would certainly set me up for life. The covers are to die for and the text is from the Penguin classic library collection with introductions by famous Austen scholars. Buy this for your Janeite and you will be praised to the skies.
For the die-hard Jane Austen fan, this beautiful new edition contains facsimiles from the manuscript of her juvenilia and introduction by Austen scholar Katherine Sutherland. Wow!
21. An Annotated Northanger Abbey, by Jane Austen, edited by Susan J. Wolfson
As delightful as Austen’s heroine Catherine Morland herself, this new addition to the Harvard University Press’ series of annotated and illustrated Austen novels is sure to please even the most particular Austen fan. Read our review.
22. The Persuasion of Miss Jane Austen, by Shannon Winslow
Jane Austen died in 1817, unmarried and without a beau, or did she? Read our review.
23. First Impressions: A Novel of Old Books, Unexpected Love, and Jane Austen, by Charlie Lovett
Did Jane Austen lift the plot of Pride and Prejudice from another writer? This literary mystery spans two centuries and is a fun journey of discovery. Read our review.
24. Jane and the Twelve Days of Christmas: Being a Jane Austen Mystery, by Stephanie Barron
The 12th novel in the Being a Jane Austen Mystery series finds amateur sleuth Jane Austen in Hampshire for the holidays uncovering a murder at neighborhood estate The Vyne. Read our review.
25. Jane Austen’s First Love: A Novel, by Syrie James
In 1791, 15 year old Jane Austen encounters the intelligent, worldly and devilishly handsome Edward Taylor and her life is never the same. Read our review.

Laurel Ann,
This list is *wonderful* ;) . I especially loved seeing books by friends — YAY to Shannon Winslow, Syrie James, and Kim Wilson!! Each one of their books is marvelous. And a good friend from high school just sent me the Marrying Mr. Darcy card game! It’s very cool (and complicated, LOL). I just need to find a few Janeites to play it with…
Happy Holidays!!
p.s. I want that 1894 P&P Kindle cover, too ;) .
