From the desk of Laurel Ann Nattress:
Don’t you love Saturday mornings? I find that they are my favorite day and time of the week—mostly because I can indulge in doing things for myself. Such a luxury.
This morning, I made banana muffins and started listening to an audio recording of Jane Austen at Home, by Lucy Worsley.
Originally published in 2017 (to much acclaim) I was delighted to discover that there is a 250th birthday edition with a new cover, introduction, and epilogue, published by Hodder & Stoughton (UK).
I was even more delighted to discover an audio version read by the writer herself, and that I could listen to it for free with my Spotify subscription. Huzzah!
I enjoy audiobooks, especially when I am engaging in household activities like baking, cooking, cleaning, and gardening.
This wonderful and insightful biography of Jane Austen is a must read this year during the 250th celebration of her birth. Worsley is a fabulous writer pulling together extensive research with vivacity and wit. I highly recommend it. 5 stars for me.
How are you celebrating the #janeausten250? I am revisiting books in my semi-extensive Austen library, enjoying many new releases, and watching Miss Austen on Masterpiece PBS when it premieres in May.
Go #teamausten250!

I have wanted to read this book for a long time now, but I just haven’t got round to it yet! This year is the perfect year for it though and I am excited to hear that it is on Spotify. 😊 I am going to visit Jane Austen’s House in Chawton this Summer in celebration for her 250th Birthday! Miss Austen is also very good, I would highly recommend. 📚🥳
