Could have sworn that I just watched two very recent BBC versions of Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights that came out in the last 5 years? I guess that’s enough time to warrant new versions.

The actress who is to portrary Elizabeth Bennet looks perfect for the role. She’s absolutely lovely, and the actor who is to play Mr. Darcy has a satirical look and a firm jaw. Based on their promo shots, they look the parts.

I got my JASNA newsletter and haven’t opened it yet–thanks for the preview. Now I can’t wait to read the review of Independence of Mary Bennet, truly one of the worst books I’ve ever read.

Jane, I didn’t make it past the second chapter of the Mary Bennet book. I had to return it to the library, and never bothered to get it out again.
The cover of the Bespelling book bears a remarkable resemblance to the cover of the U.S. edition of Mr. Darcy, Vampyre*–which might be my favorite Austen paralit cover ever.** Seriously, the font’s similar, the colors are similar, it’s a similar feeling with the necklace. Bespelled’s not a Sourcebooks title, is it?

**The U.K. edition, on the other hand, is one of my LEAST favorite covers!
