As part of the Jane Austen national campaign for president tour, the cherry trees in Washington have bloomed on her command. We were honored by her highnesses recent visit to our humble neck of the woods and snapped this photo to commemorate the occasion. (see new banner above)

Oh, how droll! A new banner. I quite like it. I’ve been taking my Jane Austen action figure for a stroll around the house. But, since it is still allergy season here, I shall wait to take her outdoors when the pollen clears!

Not only do the cherry blossoms bloom on command, but they’re bigger than Jane herself! I heard tales of wayward blossoms interrupting traffic.

Yes, in the great ‘out’ west, our cherry blossoms are super-sized, though MacDonalds had nothing to do with it.
