Silly me. Forgot to mention the good stuff. During the ‘Pride and Prejudice without Zombies’ event you can enter multiple chances to win swag. Lots of swag. Giveaways. Free stuff.
Laurel Ann has culled her Austen bookshelves and called in all her favors to assemble this list. Here goes.

Together for the first time, the complete and unabridged audio recordings of Jane Austen’s novels handsomely presented in a boxed set. Counting 69 CDs and running over 83 hours, this is the Holy Grail of Austen audio book recording as only Naxos could present with superb readings by Juliet Stevenson, Emilia Fox, and Anna Bentinck. Included are Austen’s six major novels, the novella Lady Susan and her unfinished novels Sanditon and The Watsons. This is definitely the essential collector’s item. Retail value $250.00!
Also included during the event will be…
Editions of Pride and Prejudice by: Penguin Classics, Barnes and Noble’s Classics, Harper Collins Classics, Naxos Audiobooks, Insight Edition, Norton Critical Edition, Oxford’s Worlds Classics, Longmans Cultural Edition, Anchor Annotated, Modern Library Edition, Penguin Classics Deluxe, White’s Fine Edition, Dover’s replica of the 1893 Peacock edition, and the retelling Fitzwilliam Darcy, Gentleman Trilogy.

When I visited Jane Austen’s House a few years ago,I was lucky enough to snag a CD recording of Helena Bonham Carter reading excepts from several Austen novels(bridged by Regency era music pieces)and it’s one of the highpoint of my JA collection. HBC does a great Lady Catherine, btw:)

Maybe my devotion to Jane Austen will bring me luck. The only thing I ever won was a shirt embossed with the logo of Radio Prague. I have all of Jane’s major novels, including “Sanditon.” But the only one I have on audio is “Emma” (abridged).

What a treasury indeed!
What won the argument for Elizabeth Bennet was full consciousness of her equality — and perhaps superiority — to Lady Catherine. To have caved, groveled and otherwise been intimidated by Lady Catherine’s rank and bad manners would have been a betrayal of Elizabeth’s very being and selfhood. “It was not to be borne!” What fun!

Oh, I love Jane Austen books and would very much like to own a set like this. I have listened to one Naxos audio book and it had a very good reader.

I have never had an audio book except for children’s books and that was records with the books (like the fox and the hound) for my kids. Wow! That sounds like quite a catch. Does the reader do a good job? You never know if they have a high voice, monotone voice or whatever. I’m sure it’s superb. Please enter me too. I didn’t think I responded already, but there may be another Sue on here.
