Huzzah! After a robust week of Beta testing, I am happy to say that all system are “go” on the new Jane Austen Made Me Do It website!

Over the past several months, the Austen elves have been hard at work creating an online home for my new book and its 24 authors. Jane Austen Made Me Do It is a new short story anthology that officially releases on 11 October 2011 with Ballantine Books. The lineup of authors is my personal Austen-inspired dream team:

Pamela Aidan • Elizabeth Aston • Stephanie Barron • Carrie Bebris • Jo Beverley • Diana Birchall • Frank Delaney & Diane Meier • Monica Fairview • Amanda Grange • Syrie James • Janet Mullany • Jane Odiwe • Beth Pattillo • Alexandra Potter • Myretta Robens •   Jane Rubino & Caitlen Rubino Bradway • Maya Slater • Margaret Sullivan • Adriana Trigiani • Laurie Viera Rigler • Lauren Willig

As editor, I have been working on the anthology for over a year and a half. It is so exciting to see so much of what has been planned coming together!

Be sure to check out my first blog announcing the launch of the JAMMDI site, the pages about the book, author bios and descriptions of the stories. The rest of the site will fill out as we get closer to the October 11, 2011 publication, so stay tuned for more exciting news! There is also giveaway contest running until September 5th, 2011 for four advance reading copies of the book. Just leave a comment on the JAMMDI announcement blog post to qualify!

Jane Austen Made Me Do It, edited by Laurel Ann Nattress (2011)Many thanks to all of my Janeite friends who have been faithfully following along with me during the long publication process. I can’t wait for you to read “my darling child.”

Cheers,

Laurel Ann

Oh pick me, pick ME! I’ve been waiting for this to come out! I can’t wait to read this book! If I don’t win it I’ll buy it and not give anybody a chance to give it to me for Christmas as I won’t be able to wait until then! Laurel Ann, if your name is on it, I’m there!

Congrats LA. I’ve been to your new website a few weeks ago when Meredith pointed it out for Austenesque Extravaganza. It’s very beautiful and full of tidbits about the authors and their short story. Great job!

I learned of this website through a tweet from Syrie James. She has become one of my favorite authors. It all started when I was in Borders a few years ago. I became hooked when I found her book on Jane Austen. I appreciate all her insights and recommendations on books. When she started tweeting about this book, I got very excited! I can’t wait to read it!
