Sorry you were disappointed Kelsey. I enjoyed the humor most. If you compare it to Pride and Prejudice you will be disappointed. But as a contemporary restyling for young teens, I can stand by my opinions.

I have to say, I just read the book and it was kind of a disappointment. It’s decent fluff, but I wish I hadn’t rushed out and bought it. There was absolutely no chemistry between Lizzie and James and nothing very memorable. I did like the message about family, however.

Excellent choice for an introduction to P&P. She may not immediately want to read the original, but the seed will be planted.

Hmm. I’ve been looking for a way to introduce my fifteen-year-old daughter to Austen. The danger is that she’ll feel she’s already read P&P if she reads this version. But it does sound like an interesting one.

Hi Heather, thanks for stopping by. James Darcy is a recent college grad – as is Charlie – both older than Lizzie and Jane like the book. Lizzie is in her last year of High school when the novel begins – Jane’s in first year of college.
