What I dislike about sequels in general is that they reinvent the original plot. While it's normal in any fanfiction it seems silly that the same two clever people could go through the same misunderstandings over and over again instead of learning from their first lesson.

The ones about dancing and narrative technique sound very interesting.

I was sorely disappointed by So You Think You Know Jane Austen? though. I found there quite a few mistakes in reference to P&P. Not what I expected from such authorities as John Sutherland & Deirdre Le Faye.

My most recently read P&P sequel was Pemberley Manor which I liked very much. My favorite book from Darcy's perspective in Maya Slaters Mr. Darcy's Diary, which will be re-released as The Private Diary of Mr. Darcy this June in the US. Look through our review archives and you will see many choices. I would be happy to hear of other readers selections too.

Cheers, Laurel Ann
