Sense and Sensibility (2008) will be rebroadcast on February 1st and 8th at 9:00 pm on PBS. What a welcome respite after the tumultuous Victorian drama of Tess of the d’Urbervilles and Wuthering Heights on Masterpiece Classic this past month.
This adaptation by Andrew Davies was my favorite new production on The Complete Jane Austen last year on Masterpiece Classic. You can read a cast preview here, and my reviews of episode one and two here. Look forward to outstanding performances by Hattie Morahan and Charity Wakefield as sisters Elinor and Marianne Dashwood, beautiful costumes, English scenery and eye candy with Dan Stevens as Edward Ferrars and Dominic Cooper as Willoughby.

That is good news :) I’ll be happy to rewatch this version.
what I want to know is why Australia was forced to sit through all the other awful ones, and missed this?
Looking forward to it!
Bells, it was because although WGBH/PBS co-produced the Complete Jane Austen, their partners were different. ITV produced the awful ones (mind that I like NA2, IMHO it was not as bad as the other ones -that is MP3 and P3) and that is how they sold them and then BBC produced S&S3 and MAR. I for one MAR was my favourite, even above S&S3, which is not bad, but it doesn’t excite me as much as previous adaptations of S&S.
